So you and Merrilou did not have the benefit of the bike in front of you to add to your headlight. From experience, I know that bike headlights are not enough on a very dark road. You and Merrilou did great in the dark. The rest of us just hitched a ride on the headlights in front of us .

Night riding is an exercise in faith...faith that you will be able to react quick enough if danger appears in your headlight at the last moment.
