Duke City Fix

Life, food, events, and community in Albuquerque, NM

I went to all three workshop/demos on Saturday (10/11/08), at the Agency on 4th St. My friend (and my employee at UNM) Zack Kear went with me; here are some action shots.

That pic is of local artist Ehrin leading a circuit-bending workshop.

And in this pic, UNM grad student and computer music lab manager Zack Kear admires his fine soldering job on the contact mic he made during Raven Chacon's workshop.

I don't see the pics, but glad to hear the workshops were good- wish I could have found the time and energy to attend them. The music parts of the festival were fantastic- much much better than I expected. There is certainly a lot of great talent here in NM and look forward to checking out more of that (largely underground) scene!! Thanks to everyone involved!!

Sorry, I tried to show the photos by linking to their URLs elsewhere, and apparently that isn't working out...

The entire weekend of Oscillation was a blast. This year, it was very evident that the promoters and organizers wanted to make it a FESTIVAL, complete with workshops and celebrities. Local celebrities that is!
