This is a nice ride. Fall colors, warm foods posole and coffee are to be had. Great art gathering opportunity too. I am thinking of riding out Sunday.

Oh wait, I was mostly confused because I was thinking this was the studio tour that already happened. I'm with ya now. There is a Starbucks on Central near Tramway. Sounds good
Central and Tramway. Four hills shopping area. Yes, right next to Chevron. AMRG has met there before and I am sure I have seen some of you there ;) 11:45 ok?

Well, I screamed through the canyon to catch up with them. But when I stopped to put my raingear on, all but two left without me again. I'm sticking with the leaders from now on... good thing I know my way around NM or I'd spend a lot of time lost.
I really wish I could jopin all of you on this ride, but I'm gonna be out of town this weekend.
A short comment if you haven't been in that area before. I noticed that the included map for the tour, as well as many road maps, don't show that CR 41 I think it is , the county road between Madrid and Galisteo, is 12 miles of hard packed gravel. I have ridden it on my big Vulcan, it is very passable, but just be aware it isn't asphalt.
Have fun. I'm looking forward to hearing about it.
I plan to go to Moriarty then north to Galisteo. I am a freeway girl but I figured we could discuss it Sun. No need to ride on the dirt road. We park where we can then its a walking tour.

I just did a big loop trip with the AMRG west to Grants, south through the malpais to Quemado, east through Magdalena to Socorro and back north. Meanwhile, my husband worked on bricking the back hallway and bedroom, which I promised to help him with and to paint the walls.... so guilt keeps me home tomorrow and off the Galisteo ride. Here's a picture I took on the ride today of a natural arch in the malpais south of Grants.
