Recommend a good shoe repair place

I have a pair of custom-made leather sandals that are in need of resoling. According to the guy who made them (who would do the work, but he's 2000 miles away now), it's important that the soles be replaced without heating the shoes, which would warp the last. Any recommendations?

Nob Hill Shoe Repair did a good job on repairing two pairs of my boots (Complete sole/heel replacement on a pair of cowboy boots and a heel replacement on another pair of dress boots). You'd have to ask them about heating the soles, but they were well done and only took a couple of days. I think it cost $40 for both, but don't quote me on that.

Check out

ROBLEDO'S

He is located on Richmond, just south of Central.

Very nice man and excellent work.

Robledo on Richmond is the spot. He's a great guy who does great work.

There's a shop on 6th Street a few doors N. of Central, nice guy too. The place on the SE corner of Gold and 3rd is by far the best place to get an old fashioned shoe shine, and the best deal in town for $3.50. Haven't ever used either for actual repair though.

Nob Hill Shoe Repair. It is also a great place for cleaning and shining. He can usually do it for you in a couple of minutes while you wait.

I recommend Nob Hill Shoe Repair as well.

I took a pair of boots to nob hill shoe repair that just needed the 1/8" rubber on the bottom of the heel replaced. the owner painted the pale wood of the whole 3" heel with dark brown polish, ruining the wood permanantly. then he claimed that the boots came into his shop like that. I'd gone there on a recommendation, but I'll never go there again. just my two lincolns.

I had a pair of beloved leather sandals resoled at european boot and shoe repair, at 1504 wyoming. it means a drive to wyoming and constitution (just north of 1-40), but the work was very well done and I've worn them through another 3 summers. when they wear out again, I'll head back to european.

Funny, I was just considering posting a question about who in town makes custom-made sandals. Anyone have a recommendation? About how much was the cost?

I had mine made in Asheville at Paul Taylor. Ran me about $100 eight years ago.

I would definitely FedEx them back to Paul Taylor if you want them doing the right way.
