Oak Flat CLOSED on June 28

Due to fire danger, the Oak Flat Picnic Area will be closed for the 6-28 "Stargazing in the Manzanos" event (see earlier post for all dates).

For June 28 only, the free public star party has been moved to Griegos Elementary School in ABQ. Address and phone number are 4040 San Isidro Street NW, (505) 345-3661. Directions: Take Candelaria west of I-25. Cross 12th Street. Make a right turn, heading north, onto San Isidro Street. The school is immediately past Cherokee Road.

This public star party will begin at 8 p.m. and end at midnight. Smoking, pets, and alcoholic beverages are not permitted on school property.

I'll keep you posted if any other Oak Flat events are moved due to fire restrictions.
