Congratulations are in order. After a successful run on the national film fest circuit (including the Halloween Horror Picture Show in Tampa, the Fright Night Film Fest in Louisville and the Full Moon Horror Fest in Little Rock), the locally produced, locally shot horror thriller Gimme Skelter is racking up the positive reviews. “Gimme Skelter is more than just another indie slasher flick,” raved the reviewer at EyeCraveDVD.com. “It is a glorious Go-Go frug of a meditation on moral hypocrisy, the cult of personality and the true meaning of ‘The Manson Family Christmas Special.’ ”

The good news for viewers is the film will be making its DVD debut early next year. Further good news is it will be the first release for the newly formed DVD label Burning Paradise Entertainment. The label is the offspring of Kurly Tlapoyawa, owner of downtown Albuquerque’s Burning Paradise video store and writer of the Alibi’s monthly “VideoNasty” column.

The DVD of Gimme Skelter is expected to begin shipping in mid- to late January. It will include writer/director commentary, video blogs, a still gallery, music videos and more. The special introductory price is $15 plus $4.25 shipping and handling for orders within the U.S., or $15 plus $6 s/h for orders outside the U.S. That price is good until the DVDs begin shipping, after which it will go up to the full retail price of $20 (plus s/h). The first 67 orders placed will receive the signed and numbered limited edition, autographed by Gunnar “Leatherface” Hansen and several other members of the cast and crew! These limited-edition copies are selling fast, so if you want one, be sure to order as soon as possible. You can order the DVD by visiting www.gimmeskelter.com or Gimme Skelter’s MySpace page (www.myspace.com/gimmeskelter).
