Looking for an apartment/house

A friend and I are looking to get a place together starting this summer. We're going to school at UNM and so we'd prefer stuff in the UNM or Nob Hill neighborhoods, but if we can't find those we're good with stuff that's either on the Rapid Ride routes or are within good scooter distance.

Has anyone seen any "For Rent" signs on places that look cool and quirky? Do you know of any good places other than the classifieds in the paper and craigslist to look?

Hi Nora, Have you tried www.cornerpostco.com ? Last year, I needed a rental and was able to at least see there stuff on line. I had found through them a quirky place on Sycamore, Good luck.

Check out the colorful apartments behind Whole Foods at Carlisle and Indian School (blanking on the name, sorry). My fiancee's sister lives there and they are pretty nice and inexpensive-ish for the two story 2 BRs.

there is an apt available in the 4 plex i live in. it's in silver hills next to prebyterian behind coaches. nice neighborhood.

only one bedroom. but thought i would let you know anyway if that might be what you are looking for also. let me know if you have questions.

Seems like I've seen a few places for rent when I'm out with the dogs in my area. Some duplexes, homes and apartments in the blocks just off of Copper and East of Washington. It's close to Nob Hill and an easy bike ride to UNM, or grabbing the bus right on Central. Sunflower Market and Jubilation are close by as well :)

Or you could always post a 'Housing Wanted' ad on CL. This strategy worked well for us and landed us in our current place.
