Profile

Where I Live:
Albuquerque - NE Heights
About Me:
Amy was born and raised in Las Cruces, New Mexico and has visited every town - even the really small ones - in the state of New Mexico at least once. She now lives in Albuquerque, which is a much more interesting place than Santa Fe, despite what you’ve seen in the movies. She has been married to her college sweetheart, Eric, for about 8 times as long as most Hollywood star marriages last and she is mom to a beautiful and very headstrong little boy, Kenneth, who was born on Harry Potter’s birthday in 2006.

Amy graduated from a tiny college in Eastern New Mexico (an area where the cow population outnumbers the human population) with a degree in communications in 1998. When asked what she does for a living, she replies “I change jobs every three years.” She has spent most of her career working in marketing and communications while trying to decide which of her childhood career aspirations to pursue (astronaut is probably out, but archaeologist and teacher are still on the table). She currently works as the Director of Marketing for Santa Ana Star Center in Rio Rancho.

Amy’s goals are to perfect her beef stroganoff recipe, to figure out what keeps happening to Kenneth’s socks in the wash, to spend less money at Gymboree and Oompa Toys, and to decide what she wants to do with her life now that she is a grown-up. Her favorite things are her husband and son, mafia movies, the ladies who clean her house twice a month, television medical dramas, Death Cab for Cutie, Keen sandals, sleeping in, and her iPod.
Favorite Thing(s) About Albuquerque:
The diversity of cultural experience. How friendly and helpful people are, even to perfect strangers. The weather. The food. How the full moon looks when it rises over the mesa. Just about everything.

Hola amiga! I'll admit I didn't immediately recognize/remember ya but me and names have a tendency to ignore one another. *lol* Yeah, been here since March 2005....complicated story but that's what life is all about, eh?!

Thank you for sharing your story Amy! She still recognizes me but her motor skills are bad. I'm going to post another comment (to my original post) with my experiences at dinner. I just finished and am having a salad at the Star - and blogging. Boy I feel 21st century now! ha ha

Oh I love your bio! Lots of personality comes through. Nice job. I also earned a degree in communications in 1998! Wow! I just kinda stumbled onto your page, but I'm glad I did.
