Hey Lana. I was eating some Armenian Pizza (Lahmahjoon) from Cafe Instabul a couple of days ago and thought of you two. Have you got yourself up there yet? Are you going to be around Thanksgiving weekend?

Good to know you ventured into the South Valley and its culture a little deeper. You should have called me, we could have met up, gone to La Isla! How's school?
It's funny I think people are so accustomed to driving in a car they have no idea that they're missing out on anything by doing so. I know I forgot that for a long time. Then I decided to go a year without a car and boy did I find out a lot. I made a whole new connection with this city. Before when I only drove I had no appreciate for the fact that if you're driving East in Albuquerque you're going uphill. Or that going through different neighborhoods during the spring can be like a tour of smells. This city is really great and there's just so many wonderful things to miss if you're trapped in a little metal cube zooming along, unaware of it all.
A friend used to live in Park Place apartments and I visited twice. From what I remember they were nice and the location is very good. But that is all I remember. Good luck and keep us up to date on your move! Cheers!

I grew up in Dayton (Huber Heights) but currently live in Columbus. I am planning to move to ABQ in three years or less (my daughter is currently going to Wright State). Tell me about how you plan to make the move as I will be doing the same in the not too distant future. Good luck!

Hey Lana-that's great you may want to be a speechie too:) I'm doing my undergrad pre-reqs now and I love the field, though some classes are hard. Let me know if you have any questions. I have the same concerns about in-state tuition too, but one thing I love about UNM and NMSU is that they allow out of state students to have in state tuition for 6 credits per semester and during the summer. and in state tuition is much cheaper in NM than it is in NY. So I plan on going PT during my first year until I'm a resident and then be FT after that. Plus you can get health insurance as a PT student at UNM, which will make it easier to get by that first year.
Welcome to the Moving to the Duke City group and I look forward to hearing about your ideas about moving to ABQ. About once a week I was going to post some of the resources I'm using to prepare for my move to ABQ in three years. I also visit ABQ once a year (at least) to see grandmother. So those trips actually help - ha ha!
