Letters from Nuremberg, Buffy Season 8, re-reading M.F.K. Fisher books, re-reeding Paul Fussell (Military history, we're doomed to repeat it, but with bigger booms.)
What I'm Listening To:
Classic Blues, Jazz, R&B...old dead guys...(I'm an aging baby boomer.)

Hi Mary - I re-read your comment about what you love about ABQ. Then I called Pam (my wife) and read it to her. We just laughed and laughed. You sound EXACTLY like us. We've talked about getting out of town in 15 minutes, 45 minutes to the middle of nowhere and playing tourist in the very areas you mentioned. What a city!!! Man. I'm sitting here at work trying to wrap things up with 3 hours to go. But I am dreaming of New Mexico.
We both can't wait to meet you! We're of the same mindset I can tell. It's an Adventure out in Nuevo Mexico!
Hi Mary. I can't make the AIBA networking event tonight, but would like to join in the future. Have you considered developing an AIBF group on Duke City Fix - or does one already exist that I could sign up with for future updates?
I'm actually a native (from the "ugly" part of the state, Hobbs ;-) - so entrapment and enchantment are in my blood. I'll definitely check out your blog and photos. Thanks!
hey Mary, Loved your comment about weeding with wine. I am so going to weed-n-wine from here on out. By the way, Paul Fussell's book, The Great War and Modern Memory is a great book--had a huge impact on me when I read it in college.
Bear with me - anybody who is visiting here - I've not had the time to jazz up my page. I do, however, post almost daily over at my blog at www.maryschmidt.com. Mostly business, sometimes not. Fridays are "Martini Musing" days when I write about whatever I want.

If you like Fussell, you should also check out John Keegan and William Manchester.
(Oh, and the rule is no more weeding time than it takes for one glass of vino!) ;-) Otherwise, the neighbors may start to talk! )
