A Maize Maze-ing We Will Go!

We went to the Rio Grande Community Farm's Maize Maze for the first time today. This was my first time at a maize maze and we all had a great time. As we have a 2-year-old and a 4-year-old I was very happy to find out they have two mazes - one o… Continue

Indoor Mini Golf - Exactly what I've been needing

So we've been watching Golfernoggins on Lomas going in for the last few months. At first I thought it was a golf supply place, but then we received our trusty Valpak and found out it was going to be an indoor mini-golf place! Oooh the excitement! We have a four-year-old and one-y… Continue

My Church at the Railyard

I could write practically forever about how much I love the railyard that sits downtown on Second Street. But a picture being worth a thousand words and all that jazz I'll start with two.

The pic on the left - a mosque in Cordoba, Spain, the right - the Machine Shop at the railyards,… Continue

Haven't seen you since the PhotoNM show at Matrix, but I did really like your work in that show. Especially see the lower half this little form-comment, and I'd be interested in your feedback on that idea!

Fellow NM Photographer!
Just a quick note to invite you to Karl Koenig's opening at the Inpost Art Space (at the Outpost Performance Space, 210 Yale SE) this coming Friday evening, 5-8. Karl is a talented photographer who makes images mostly of nature and architecture, the world round. The show will focus on his large format gumoil photographs, a process that he pioneered himself about 20 years ago. The prints are hand pigmented, resulting in amazingly vibrant photographs with a wondrous, almost catastrophic fairy tale quality. I find them highly affecting and unique.

My fellow curator Rob Thalmann and I plan to focus heavily on local photography during our 2 year term there at the Outpost, and this is just the tip of the iceberg for us. Maybe we could even do a DCF photographer's group show there?

Come see the show on the 5th!

Are you going to "My Brightest Diamond" at the cooperage next Sunday? Check em out, especially "Clare & The Reasons" they are warming up.

I had looked at your work before, I should have dropped you a line before I just get so sidetracked! Two shows for you in one day! Wow... you must be going nuts!

I look forward to meeting you too... this should be great fun!

Cool! Our hours are 12-6pm. Will you be at the Wooden Cow opening tonight? Aaron and I were going to stop in to check out the new space. See you then. :)

The Rollins show was great- I hadn't seen him do the spoken word thing for 6-7 years when he was at UNM. He was at the Kimo this time and there were at least 300 people in attendance. He talked about politics, travel, the importance of being involved in making the world better. Good stuff. Lots of 20 and 40 year-olds in attendance. He's pushing 50 now and still just as relevant as ever, if not more so- 3 hours of insightful monologue, very inspiring. Hope you can make it next time.
