All that old crap + muckraker's guide

At some point, somebody asked me where all my old posts went. They can be accessed here: My Duke City Fix Morgue

Enjoy that. You'll need to scroll down a bit. Okay, a lot.

Also, I'm a big fan of the SF Reporter's Muckraker's Guide (thanks to Dave Maass for some great research).

Here's Cody Martin, at "the office". Vote for Cody on A Dog's Life (if you can find him).

Watch me go batshit on tonight's New Mexico In Focus, only on KNME (and this website)

I can say with 100% confidence that you'll have a chance, tonight at 7, to watch a member of the Duke City Fix admin team go completely loca and pretty much lunge across the table at Santa Fe attorney and KNME commentator Marco E. Gonzales over the issue of... well, I leave it to you… Continue

Tickets! Tickets! Greg Brown Friday Night!

We have a family friend who is one of those songwriters' songwriters -- a musical genius type whose work you'd totally know if you'd spent any time listening to the great Texas country of the 70s (meaning Waylon, Willlie et al) or the albums of Lyle Lovett. One of his favorite songwri… Continue

Catholic Church Election Scam

Apologies for the sensational title -- it's a scam that's being perpetuated against Catholic voters in New Mexico, not a scam by the Catholic Church. This weekend, the Bishop down in Las Cruces started to get calls from his pari… Continue

Watch out for the online ABQ advertising scam

We got a strange email from a local businessperson the other day. It said:
I received a request for advertising for my now closed restaurant. I have been a silent fan for years. I want to make sure this is on the up-and-up, or if it is just a sleazy bro

Well, I got a new hard drive yesterday afternoon and apparently this contained the cookies which remembered me. I could not remember my old password with which to sign in and clicked on the button to have the old password sent to me, but it never was sent to me. So I just signed up again, using my work e-mail address. I thought I might be stopped from using my handle, but apparently the system allows this? It was all very confusing and I never would have done this except that I was never sent my old password by whatever administrative service you have. Is this a problem?

That was a great presentation. I appreciate your ability to use comedy or comedic relief during the presentation. It fueled the talk and your audience. Thanks for letting us know about this. I'm encouraged to dust off my book by Jay Conrad Guerilla Selling and do some Guerilla searching through my sisters bookshelf for the marketing book...that's when I make the trip to New York. I'm planning to use the tactics you gave is in the workshop to convince her she should give me her book. I've got to ease my way in with a loving phone call first. In the meantime I'm reading my notes and the sales book. In addition I've written down your advice and shall act on them today. Thanks.

Thanks for the workshop, I was madly scribbling notes, and then I got a big ol fatty pamphlet of goodness that I can refer to as well! Very helpful and informative, and the luncheon was interesting too. Clifton insisted I take a chair next to him.... and I'm glad I did. mmmm....

Hey Sophie, It had minor relevance to Albuquerque. I looked for a good place to put it, maybe a NM History Buffs group, but couldn't find anything relevant. Thought it might get deleted. No biggie. Maybe I'll start a new group!
