You'd think city would maybe partner with Habitat for Humanity and let that group try to rehab some of these homes for low income folks.  Maybe a law needs to be passed to force banks to liquidate their stock within a set period of time also.

Bummer that you're retiring from the Morning Fix, OTBS.  It's a lot of work summarizing the local news (and not get a lot of feedback...)

That's a good idea, shotsie.  It's probably too complicated/expensive for the city to consider, though.  I keep thinking they should re-purpose empty big box stores for use as homeless shelters/treatment centers.   

At least I could always count on you for commentary, shotsie.'s not so much that I am retiring from the Fix--you'll need to watch for an announcement from the managers which will be coming soon, I expect.
